"Echoic" series, 2005-

This body of work is experiential, and thus cannot be captured accurately in photo or even in video.

The works are made of repeating patterns in enamel paint on the backside of large panes of sheet glass. The glass is then lit with multiple light sources. The density and overlap of shadows creates optical effects which range from shifting moray patterns to the desubstantiation of the glass surface. The sharp lines on the glass tend to disappear as the eye tries to focus on the shifting shadows cast on the walls behind.
